App guidelines

Native and branded elements

When designing apps, it’s important to balance native elements and branded elements. Native components ensure familiarity, trust, and reliable performance, while branded elements create recognition and express our identity. By combining both, we optimize usability without losing the distinctiveness of our brand.

Native elements

Native components are recommended for core functionality such as navigation, inputs, forms, notifications and permissions. Native ensures familiar patterns, platform trust, and fewer technical issues. Relying on native behaviors helps users feel confident and reduces learning curves.

Branded elements

Apply branded elements - such as colors, typography, gradients, roundness, and styling - where they strengthen identity and recognition. Branding adds the most value in visual carriers like buttons, headers, and key interaction states. Thoughtful use of branded design reinforces consistency across platforms and makes the app feel distinctly ours.

These examples demonstrates a mix of branded and native elements: input fields remain native with branded styling, while fonts, colors, switches, navigation bar, and buttons follow our brand style.
