Event and facility branding

Facility branding

The Atlas Copco brand is present all around the world. This is a unique selling point and an opportunity to promote and strengthen the brand experience in every place where we are present. It can be product companies, customer centers, distribution centers, application centers, and innovation centers.

To live up to our vision, our facilities need to be world class. This section is aimed at giving guidance, inspiration, and support in the ongoing work to create a world-class brand experience in all the facilities and for all stakeholders around the world.

Guiding principles

In the context of facility branding there are three main areas people, the environment, and safety and well-being.

People

Our ambition for the people focus area is that "Our culture of collaboration and inclusion drives our success." To ensure inclusion, we must make it possible for everyone to easily access all areas of our facilities. The images we display in our spaces—in posters, films, or handouts—should reflect the diversity that fuels our success. It’s important that we send a clear signal—everyone is welcome and included at Atlas Copco, regardless of background, gender, or physical ability.

The environment

Our vision for this area is that "Our processes minimize our impact on the environment," and the way to achieve this is by using resources responsibly.
We are committed to continuously reducing our water consumption and waste generation, handling chemicals safely to avoid environmental harm, switching to renewable energy sources, and lowering our overall energy use.

We also encourage the use of natural light in our offices and factories. This not only reduces our consumption of valuable resources but also supports a healthier environment. Additionally, implementing good ergonomic practices enhances comfort and well-being in the workplace.

Safety and well-being

Our ambition is that the way we work contributes to safety and well-being, and our facilities should reflect this. Our employees should have ergonomic workstations designed to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and other injuries. Signage throughout our facilities should serve as reminders of safe behavior. All pedestrian areas at our production sites should be clearly marked. Every visitor should be provided with information regarding on-site safety and appropriate safety protocols.

In facility branding, the typeface and color are defined by the visual identity.

Exterior branding

All facility signs are designed to assist our visitors. Make sure the signs are clear and easy to understand. While different buildings may require different types of signs, always use the Atlas Copco blue logotype on a white background or the white logotype on the Atlas Copco blue background. When sharing office space with another brand or company within the Group, you can create combined signage. However, be sure to handle the Atlas Copco elements correctly.

Facade signage

When branding exteriors, it is recommended to use the logotype box. The color combinations for the same are mentioned above. The placement of the logotype box is recommended to be in a direction from which it will be most visible. We either use full free space or half free space.

Roof signage

It's important to make Atlas Copco Group logotype clearly visible in external branding. While it is not mandatory to place it above the brand logotype, we recommend using it as a roof sign. But in case of a space restriction on the roof, we recommend using the Atlas Copco Group logotype on a flag or any other equivalent branding entity.

Group Co-branding

It is important to showcase the Atlas Copco Group branding on facility signage. The Atlas Copco Group brand should be displayed with the brands that are promoted, produced, or serviced in the building.

Tower signage

Other than exterior signs, tower and road signage are also used to enhance the brand’s presence and ensure accessibility. Refer to the Group manual for detailed guidelines on tower signage.

More on Group Co-branding can be found in the Group manual.

Do’s and don’ts of exterior branding

  • Do not use "Part of Atlas Copco Group" on the brand signage and tower signage.
Facade signage incorrectly using “part of Atlas Copco Group” on the brand signage.

Lighting for exterior branding

Lighting is essential for maintaining the visibility and impact of branding on exterior surfaces, especially in low-light environments. The best way to recreate Atlas Copco blue in signage—particularly illuminated signage—it is recommended to review physical samples under real outdoor lighting conditions. This ensures the color appears correct when lit and viewed in its intended environment.

Front lit

The two ways in which an exterior signage can be front lit is shown here.

Back lit

If the signage needs to be backlit, the lighting should highlight the entire logotype box. Ensure that the artificial light does not alter the appearance of the Atlas Copco blue. Light passing through materials can alter colors, so the color code may need to be adjusted accordingly.

Facility branding flags

Flags attract attention and are generally visible from a long distance. There must be at least one outdoor flag at each premise and one table flag in each conference room and in the reception area. When used indoors, flags help create a strong association with the brand, leaving a lasting impression.

Always procure the flag from the profile store.

Interior branding

Reception area branding

Reception areas can vary depending on the location and layout of the building. Use logotype cutouts in the primary colors to enhance brand recognition. Choose locations where the cutouts fit properly, ensuring visibility without obstruction.
